Project Linus
Project Linus started out with one person knitting a blanket for a child with cancer. Now it has become a nation-wide organization with chapters in every state. Today, Project Linus covers more than cancer victims only, and the need has expanded from baby afghans to afghans sized for babies up to teenagers. But it still represents the comfort and caring that only a cozy knit made by a concerned person can bring.
Several knitters are already involved in Project Linus. Knitters have sent thousands of blankets to area chapters, never knowing the person who will receive their gift. To find out more about Project Linus as well as to locate your closest state chapter, click here for the National Web Site.
What Can I Do?
Lona Wilson has generously donated 18 patterns for the garter carriage. These patterns are in DesignaKnit .pat format and contain some of the most beautiful angels I've seen. You may download these 18 patterns in a .zip file. The only cost to you is to knit one blanket and send it to a Linus Chapter. You also have Lona's permission to have a knitting friend change the .pat files to 940 files for you as long as you agree to her disclaimer.
Before You Download, read the following
disclaimer! These designs are the property of Lona Wilson and these are
her stipulations for giving the files to you! Please follow her wishes.
By downloading and using the following zip file, I agree to knit at least one blanket and send it to a Project Linus chapter, to a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, to a Hospice for Abused Children. or to the Pediatric Center of my local hospital. I also agree not to offer these blankets for sale.
Click on the angel for the .zip file.
If you have any questions about the designs, please contact Lona
