Knitted Towel Topper
Shared by Lou Damewood LDamewood@aol.com
Here is a towel topper I made some years ago: Made mine of Lustersheen on standard machine Tension probably 8
E-wrap cast on 7 sts. Knit 9 rows.
Transfer st 4 to st 3. K 4 rows (buttonhole).
Pick up st 4 from knot below 3. Knit 25 rows.
Increase 1st on each side of center stitch and on each outside
edge every 4 rows until you have 48 sts.
Put 24 on waste yarn. Hang 1/2 terry hand towel on other 24
needles. (Just poke the needles thru the towel)
Now hang the other sts from waste yarn on top of these. (
Enclosing cut edge of towel)
Bind off around gate posts.
Sew together the edge that is open.
Sew a good size button , making the loop as long as you need to
hang on stove, refrig or cabinet.
I did turn down the cast on edge some to make the tab heavier.
Quick and easy.
