Lacey Tuck Rib T-shirt

I'm dedicating this pattern to those wonderful people who has taught me to machine
knit and are now in "knitters heaven" I am sure. As all of you will notice, there is no
gauge on this pattern - this is an experimental sweater - and this one fits a large sized
woman. Happy knitting
Cast on 161 stitches on main bed, 160 stitches on the ribber - (double strand of 2/24 by Delaine) ribber set for half pitch. Tension dial on 4 on
both main bed and ribber.
Rib for 30 rows. Cut one strand of 2/24. Turn RC to 000. I used this stitch for tuck rib

This is if you are using a punch card machine. If you are using a computerized machine, (I used a Brothers 930) use the pattern number for 1 X
1 rib with the KRC variation button on.
Use the tight rib lever (on Brothers: setting # II) I knitted this for a large, tall woman so between the ribbing and the
armhole, I knitted 214 rows. Now the one I made, I did not put sleeves in so here is the information to
put the sleeves in it, I CO 20 sts MB and 20 sts Ribber on right side, went to left side and did the same. Knit back across to right side and turn row
counter back to 000 and continue in pattern to row 150, then add 2nd strand
of 2/24, turn off pattern and straight rib for 12 rows. Transfer stitches from ribber bed to main bed and bind off around 2 gate pegs to keep the
stretch in the shoulders.
Due to the pattern of tuck rib, I just sewed the shoulders together and down the side seam and didn't have to do anything to the sleeves or the sleeve
opening (if you make it sleeveless) because it has a finished edge that is
nice for me.
Gee, I hope this makes sense - if you have any problem following the
pattern, please email me. Jan in Kansas at djkindt@horizon.hit.net
