Flowers and Butterflies

The flower is 54 x 117 and the butterfly is 44 x 43. These two patterns can be knitted on the regular or two-color garter carriage. First, enter either or both patterns as single motifs according to the directions for your particular machine. Placement is your choice.
For the converted two-color garter carriage, first choose a cast on method: garter carriage e-wrap, waste yarn and ravel cord, or double e-wrap.
If you want to make this in a single color, move the slide bar all the way to the left and thread yarn through the right tube. Move tube trippers to the far ends of the bed.
For two colors, move slide bar all the way to the left. Thread one yarn into the right side and second yarn on the left side. The left yarn will be predominate on the side away from the knitter. Place tube trippers as rows 1 and 2 are knitted.
When I knitted these two, I chose a soft lavender acrylic for the left tube and a lavender rayon for the right tube. This way, the rayon was next to my skin and was also a shiny accent on the front. The tone on tone lavenders made the design really pop out..
Although the difference really doesn't show up as well here as it does in the
original, you might get an idea of the tone on tone look. I just wish you
could feel the fabric!
I put a flower on the left side of the front and a butterfly on the top right. Then I put two butterflies on the back, one a mirror image of the other one.
