Circular Socks
pattern idea can be used with any sock pattern

A student showed me how she thought you could use a garter bar for circular socks. I LOVE it and it is so easy.

1. Knit the rib
2. Transfer stitches to main bed. Knit 1 row
3. Hang 3 prong transfer tool on first three stitches you will NOT move (either 123 or right or 123 on left)
4. Remove cast on comb & Sinker plate, let yarn be free
5. Raise ribber 1 notch
6. Remove 1/2 stitches on garter bar.
7. Rotate garter bar so side with holes points down this will fold the sock in half
8. Raise needles on the ribber put garter bar on needles & slip stitches off
9. Remove 3 prong transfer tool

I use the '7' holders with weights. I knit the rib & pattern I want, then do the above for circular knitting about 1 inch, then start the heel.

I hope I have explained this. It is quite fast & easy to do compared to scrapping off & picking up stitches.
