Cher's Poodle Loo Roll Holder
Shared by Cher Riley at cr007f0489_3@blueyonder.co.uk

Well this is one fun project, and it is so quick and easy to do...All you need is a Full Toilet Roll plus the empty cardboard inner tube from a
finished loo roll..
I used Egg Yolk Yellow colour, but this was mainly for the photograph, so that it would show up, my own personal one is a very light peach colour....
Machine...any standard with ribber.
Pattern. any Tuck pattern of your choice.
Yarn: Duo Magic, by Bramwell Eggyolk ... dye lot 6474.. Any suitable yarn that will tuck easily will do...
M.T. 6 throughout and for ribber I used Tension 2. On both beds.
The Main Body
First of all not all of us use the same size loo Rolls, but here in the UK most are nearly the same....so I cast on 58sts, use any closed cast on
method. Knit a few rows..
Using M.T. knit in tuck stitch pattern for 75rows. Cast off. Take the two sides and wrap around a loo roll, inside out, and neatly stitch up the side
seam...leaving enough at the bottom to curl under the roll gather the top to
fit neatly over the roll. Take it off and replace it so that the stitching is on the inside..and of course your tuck pattern is showing.
The Head & Neck.
Using the same method to cast on make a piece exactly the same but to fit the inner cardboard inner tube, I used 30sts, and did the same 75rows, I
fitted it around the tube sewed up the side and gathered the top and
stitched, now turn this the right way, and put it back onto the inner tube, tuck any surplus under, and inside the tube, next place this tube onto the
centre of your now covered loo roll..(toilet tissue) stitch the head and
neck part down onto the bottom main part..Make sure that the side seam of the main part and the neck are both at the back of your work...
Ears
I made these in one piece, using the ribber. Cast on 18stitches and work your 3 tubular rows, next knit for 70 rows in 1x1rib at Tension 2. Now
just knit a few extra rows as you are going to gather these stitches.
MAKING UP
Make 2 small bobbles one for each ear piece, another one a bit bigger for the nose, and a larger one for the top of the Head.
Making sure all side seams at to the back of your work...
Place the ear strip so that the middle piece is on the top of the head.
Stitch it down.
Now at either of side of the ear piece, gather up the loops of the beginning and the end of the rows, and attach a bobble, you can add an extra stitch
halfway up the head to secure the ears further if you wish.
Get the larger Bobble and stitch it to the top of the head, I left mine 'strandy', but you can cut the bobble down more to give a closer look
bobble.. Now take the bobble for the nose, and attach this to the face, roughly where the nose of a dog should be..
You can make four more bobbles if you want to and place these on the front to represent little paws or feet if you want to.
Collar...
I used a piece of lace and a little rose-bud, but you can use anything, knit a tubular contrasting colour and add an old ear ring, or stitch on a sequin
strip or two...anything you want.
You should end up with a smart looking toilet roll holder, that will look neat in any bathroom. Make a longer one for a wine bottle......or another
one similar to this which would fit over a cube tissue box, and make it in
the colours of your spare room, for your guests..Whatever have fun...
Please don't copy this pattern to any other site, this pattern is made exclusive to Northtipton only...If you wish to use this for your club
pattern project, for a bazaar or whatever, I wont have any objections, but please write a little note to Cathie, to say you are using it, this is all I
ask.
-----thanks, Cher
