A Baker's Dozen of Cables and Laces

a collection of 13 designs useful for inserts or all-over patterning
Cables and lace: two textures that seem to be opposite each other. Cables are bold and strong, standing out against other textures. Lace is shy and soft, giving a delicate look to other textures. But these opposites definitely attract each other, and putting them in combinations with each other gives the knitter beautiful, timeless garments.
A bakers dozen: 13 of the item. As you will see, Ive compared each pattern to one of my favorite cookies. (I know fudge isnt a cookie, but I just had to put it in here!)
A Bakers Dozen of Cables and Laces is basically a set of patterns that are hand-manipulated. They may be worked on any knitting machine that allows hand-manipulation such as the fine gauge, standard, midgauge, and bulky in Brother/Knitking or Studio/Singer, and the Passap Vario.
These patterns may be used in two ways: first each could be placed as an insert in a stockinette garment. ~ knitting such a smaller section as an insert, the knitter would have the look of the pattern but would not need to spend much time achieving that look. Secondly, the patterns may be expanded to more repeats or combined together to create a stunning garment made entirely of cables and lace.
